Reverse osmosis systems are designed to purify water by forcing it through a special reverse osmosis membrane under high pressure. As a result, the consumer receives permeate — crystal-clear water — while impurities are discharged into the sewer system, forming a concentrate.
Today, reverse osmosis is the most advanced solution for providing water with characteristics that are safe for human health and for achieving a high level of purification. This method is recommended by specialists for use in EU countries, Canada, the USA, and others. It is also widely used in Ukraine.
Stages of Water Treatment
Stages one to three are preliminary treatment stages. Cartridges are selected individually for purification. With their help, iron, salts, ammonia, chlorine, as well as organic and mechanical impurities are removed. The composition of these impurities is determined in advance through water analysis.
Stage four — water is forced under pressure through a membrane with a pore size of up to 1 angstrom, removing the finest residual contaminants, bacteria, and viruses.
Stage five — the taste properties of water are adjusted using a post-carbon filter; the water becomes pleasant to drink and safe for food preparation.
Stage six — optional, at the user’s discretion. The water in the reverse osmosis system is mineralized and enriched with beneficial salts, minerals, and trace elements, optimally balanced for consumption even by children.
**Estimated Composition of Purified Water
(based on an example of source water)**
| Parameter | Unit | Before filtration | After filtration | Requirements for purified water (DSanPiN) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hardness | mg-eq/dm³ | 6.86 | 0.3–0.8 | ≤ 7.0 |
| Iron | mg/dm³ | 3.8 | up to 0.1 | ≤ 0.2 |
| Ammonia | mg/dm³ | 3.21 | 0.2–0.5 | ≤ 0.5 |
Advantages of Installing a Reverse Osmosis System
The owner of such a system benefits in many aspects related to quality of life and improved household conditions:
- uninterrupted and continuous access to water that is safe for health and close in composition to the water in the human body;
- removal of harmful impurities and pathogenic microorganisms by up to 99%;
- high system productivity — sufficient water supply for all family members;
- a wide range of applications.
The capabilities of reverse osmosis systems are not limited to private use. In thermal power engineering and other industrial sectors, such systems significantly reduce heat and electricity consumption, while, unlike ion-exchange units, they do not require reagent reserves or regeneration.
Benefits of Purchasing a Reverse Osmosis System
Caring for your own health, as well as the health of your children and loved ones — because water is the foundation of life.
