Modern industrial surface sewage (fecal) pumps are characterized by high performance. Their power and self-priming capability allow efficient dewatering of tanks and cesspits, pumping contaminated liquids and sewage containing long fibers and large solid inclusions from significant depths.
According to the installation method, industrial sewage pumps are divided into three types:
- surface-mounted;
- semi-submersible;
- submersible.
Industrial Surface Sewage Pumps
A surface industrial pump for contaminated water is installed above the liquid level and offers several advantages:
- affordable cost, significantly reducing the overall expenses of sewage system installation;
- simple design combined with high reliability;
- resistance of construction materials to aggressive chemical components of wastewater, ensuring a long service life;
- low operating, maintenance, and repair costs;
- due to design features, sewage pumps equipped with grinders are capable of shredding moderately hard contaminants.
Semi-Submersible Sewage Pumps
Semi-submersible industrial pumps for contaminated water and sewage are partially immersed in the pumped liquid. Their electric motors are mounted on special floats.
Key advantages include:
- robust steel housings and mechanical shaft seals that protect pump components from mechanical damage and moisture ingress;
- ability to pump liquids containing large solid particles;
- powerful electric motors;
- efficient cooling systems and reinforced structural elements.
Industrial Submersible Sewage Pumps

Industrial submersible sewage (fecal) pumps are installed at the bottom of cesspits and tanks. This type of equipment is characterized by:
- high wear resistance;
- structural strength;
- high pumping capacity;
- affordable cost and ease of operation.
Submersible pumps are installed stationarily and are intended for pumping groundwater, sewage, and sludge-contaminated water at various facilities, including:
- car wash facilities;
- industrial enterprises;
- underground parking areas;
- multi-apartment residential buildings;
- multi-level garages and similar sites.
Sewage Pumping Stations
A sewage pumping station consists of a sealed receiving tank into which wastewater flows by gravity, and one or several pumps that transfer the liquid to the point of biological treatment. The tank dimensions and configuration of the sewage pumping station are selected individually in each case and depend on the assigned tasks and the volume of wastewater.
ZIKO designs and installs sewage pumping stations and supplies surface, semi-submersible, and submersible pumps for pumping sewage and fecal wastewater of various types. The company also offers a wide range of water treatment equipment with delivery throughout Ukraine.
