Not just discs — a system assembled for your task

At the heart of PlanetDISK® is a rotating biological contactor (RBC): a biofilm of natural microorganisms lives on the rotating discs and breaks down pollutants without air injection. This is the biological core around which ZIKO builds the remaining units for the specific site — from screens at the inlet to tertiary polishing at the outlet. That is why one technology covers tasks from a hotel to an entire settlement.

A core plus modules for your wastewater

At the heart are the PlanetDISK® biodiscs. If needed, pre-treatment is added at the inlet and polishing at the outlet: the plant is assembled for your actual wastewater composition and discharge requirements.

Before the discs · pre-treatment

  • Screens — large solids and debris at the inlet.
  • Grease trap — fats and oils from the wastewater.
  • Equalization tank — evening out composition and flow.

The set depends on the wastewater composition.

Core · always

PlanetDISK® biodiscs

The core stage — biological wastewater treatment on rotating discs.

After the discs · polishing

  • Lamella clarifier — clarification and final settling.
  • Dewatering unit — sludge dewatering.
  • Disinfection — final disinfection of the water.

Depends on the discharge requirements.

The configuration is determined at the calculation stage — you pay only for the units your site actually needs.

Modularity that monoblocks don’t have

Upgrade of old treatment plants

PlanetTEK is built into existing facilities as a biological stage — no need to build everything from scratch. Real savings for municipalities and industry with outdated plants.

Scale up to 700 m³

One technology size range — from a small hotel to an entire village; capacity is added in phases.

Adapts to the wastewater

The unit configuration is matched to the actual composition and volume of wastewater — more flexible than a fixed body.

Treatment in three stages

1

Mechanical treatment

The wastewater is freed of large solids and fats, and the uneven flow is evened out — so the next, biological stage works stably.

2

Biological treatment

The core stage: on the rotating biodiscs, natural microorganisms break down organic pollutants — without air injection, quietly and energy-efficiently.

3

Polishing and disinfection

The clarified water is brought to compliant quality and disinfected — suitable for discharge to the environment or reuse.

Frequently asked questions

How does PlanetTEK differ from a monoblock?

PlanetDISK® is a biodisc core to which the required units are added (screens, grease trap, settler, etc.). Hence the flexibility in volume (up to 700 m³) and the ability to build the system into existing plants.

Can old treatment plants be modernised?

Yes, this is one of the main scenarios: PlanetTEK is added as a biological stage to an existing facility, without building from scratch.

How much energy does it consume?

About 80% less than classic aeration plants — thanks to rotor technology without powerful blowers.

Will there be odour and noise?

Noise below 50 dB, no odour — an aerobic process without discharge of contaminated air.

What is the maximum volume?

Up to 700 m³/day in our positioning; the technology scales to 3,500 PE.

Is it suitable for polishing after physico-chemical treatment?

Yes — biological polishing by PlanetTEK after the physico-chemical stage allows discharging water to the environment or returning it to the process cycle.
