A monoblock: the whole plant in a single body

BioDisc® combines all treatment stages in a single body — a primary settler, two stages of biological treatment on rotating discs and a secondary settler. No need to build separate structures or concrete tanks: the unit is delivered ready-made and installed on a prepared bed. It’s the fastest way to get compliant turnkey treatment for a site of up to 300 people.

BioDisc® monoblock cutaway — a single body

Why BioDisc® is chosen

Turnkey

The whole system in a single body — minimal construction, fast start-up.

No noise

A rotor instead of blowers — the plant can be placed next to buildings and recreation areas.

No odour

An aerobic process without discharge of contaminated air.

5 m sanitary zone

Three times lower plot requirements than typical plants.

Handles seasonality

Stable treatment from partial to full load — the off-season doesn’t kill the biology.

Fast installation

No heavy concrete structures — the unit is installed on a prepared bed.

Four treatment stages in a single body

1

Primary settler

Heavy solids settle, fats float up; it balances uneven domestic discharges.

2

First biological stage

The biofilm on the rotating discs consumes pollutants; half a turn it “eats”, half a turn it “breathes” — no blowers.

3

Second biological stage

Final treatment on the second group of discs, a stable 96–98%.

4

Secondary settler

Sludge is returned to the cycle, treated water is discharged to a water body per standards.

BioDisc® plant cross-section: 4 zones

The system complies with European standards EN 12566-3 and EN 12255.

*The price includes the equipment and technical maintenance once a year. Installation, connection to the building and arrangement of the discharge point are calculated separately after a site visit. Supervised installation — ~0.5%, commissioning — ~0.3% of the equipment cost. For sites over 300 people, units are connected in parallel (up to 180 m³/day).

Frequently asked questions

What’s included in the price?

The cost includes the equipment itself and technical maintenance once a year. Installation, connection to the building and arrangement of the discharge point are calculated separately after a site visit — they depend on the site’s features.

Which model to choose?

The model is selected by number of people or water consumption: from BA (up to 8 people) to BN (300 people, 60 m³/day). For larger sites, units are connected in parallel — up to 180 m³/day. An engineer makes the exact selection free of charge.

Will there be odour and noise?

No. BioDisc® has no blowers — the main sources of noise and odour; the rotor turns virtually silently, and the aerobic process produces no odour. The sanitary zone is 5 metres.

How much electricity does it consume?

From 0.05 to 0.88 kW depending on the model — an order of magnitude less than compressor plants of similar capacity.

What about installation?

No heavy concrete structures are needed — the unit is installed on a prepared bed. This is faster and cheaper than building treatment plants from scratch.

How often to service it?

Scheduled maintenance — once a year, included in the price; then the ZIKO service team maintains it under contract.

We’ll select a BioDisc® model and calculate the cost

Send the number of people or average water consumption — a ZIKO engineer will select a model from the BA–BN range and calculate the configuration and turnkey cost.
